Flying above it all

Gotta love the past. Some accomplishments fade, some stay with you forever. When I was 16 I was awarded a flying scholarship. Since then I’ve flown. On a few occasions I drifted away from it. That’s just happened to me over the past few years. But now…

I’m back in the air! Oh and how I’ve missed it. It’s a positive part of my life and it’s always inspired me to be my best, and to trust my skills and decisions. Planning and making it happen. Life is an open flight plan!

Autumn Weekends

This year’s autumn weekends were just beautiful. I had the opportunity to get out to the parks in the region to have a look at the change in colours. There was no disappointment. The trees changed so slowly this fall and even within a day the trees had advanced to their inevitable barren winter sleep.

A sleep that regenerates the soil around them, warms their roots, and creates shelter for all the little creatures in the forest they share. I always enjoyed the fall. In fact, I believe it is the best season of all. Not too hot, not too cold, not too big, not too small. It is just right…

A look back

It is hard to believe that my previous TV show was so long ago and in a far away land. Voice overs and writing for new shows, documentaries, corporate videos and aviation training media kept me pretty busy since then. I knew I’d be back.

If you are not familiar with my first talk show, check out the imdb listing for both seasons. When I look back, it’s pretty inpressive what I did pretty much single handedly.

Let’s see how long the new show will run! The premiere airs very soon!

Localization and World News on the Internet

Localization and World News on the Internet. What is localization on the internet? How does it affect you?

Find out March 22, 2017 at the VIRL Courtenay branch at 6:00pm.

Localization is a global system that in effect, may foster censorship and propaganda. How so? Let Martin Anthony walk you through his understanding of this seemingly invisible firewall of free information. His experience with topics of the internet started, in Vancouver, prior to the dot com era. He sat on committees (Praxis and AES) that discussed copyright protection long before it was an issue.

In later years, he became manager and Editor in Chief of the English Internet department of a privately owned Turkish news agency in Istanbul. There he worked with journalists from around the world. Martin later hosted a TV talk show in Istanbul where he interviewed scores of guests ranging from a former Whitehouse security chief, to world famous musicians.
